Sildenafil Citrate is the main component of Viagra Soft. It affects the response to sexual stimulation by enhancing smooth muscle relaxation through nitric oxide, which is released during sexual arousal. This relaxation increases blood flow to the penis, leading to an erection. It is used for treating erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Sildenafil Citrate may also be used for other purposes not listed.
Keep a tablet under your tongue until it dissolves, usually taken 15-20 minutes before sexual activity. Do not take Viagra Soft more than once a day. A high-fat meal may delay its effect. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment.
Before taking Sildenafil Citrate, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or have any other allergies. Older adults may be more sensitive to side effects.
Viagra Soft is contraindicated for patients taking other impotence medications or nitrates for chest pain. It should not be taken by women or children, or by anyone with a known hypersensitivity to any tablet component.
